Tutorial: Customized Towels!

A few days ago, I mentioned that I **LOVE** cute kitchen towels!! I get them for every season, holiday, etc. Recently, I started going through my fabric stash, and decided to create my OWN spring towels!

1) I stopped at Target and got a couple SUPER CUTE solid kitchen towels. They were 2 for $3.

2) WASH the towels and fabric you're going to use! This is important! You don't want to end up with shrunken, misshapen towels! (trust me! OOPS!!)

3) Measure the width of the towel. Cut a strip of fabric 4 inches wider than the towel and about 5 inched long.

4) Iron the fabric, and fold to fit the towel. You can make the strip as long as you want, but fold over 2 inches on each side of the towel. This will wrap around it. If you want to get REALLY picky, you can fold the extra 2 inches in half and crease that, too! (the fabric is already creased on the tops and once on the sides)

5) Pin the fabric strip to your towel, just where you want it.

6) Sew a straight line all the way around. All 4 sides. This will keep your fabric in place, and your design in place.

TA DA!! Simple, right? TOO simple, RIGHT?!

Now you go make one, and come back and show us! Or post it to my Tiny Belles Facebook wall or the A to Zebra Facebook wall!!! I want to see what you create!!

Tulle Table Skirt Tutorial

Hey everyone, it's Heather again from Pirates-n-Princesses!!!
I really think you are going to LOVE this tulle table skirt tutorial I have for you today!!

If there's anything you REALLY need to know about me it is...

*I am obsessed with polka dots
*I love ribbon & ruffles (NOT the potato chips, although those are yummy, too!)
*I over use the word stinkin'
*I love cupcakes
and
*I love anything PINK & GIRLY

So, when I ran across this tulle table skirt over at Sweet Craft Cakes blog
I KNEW I had to share it with y'all!

How adorable???
And do you know what the best part about this tulle table skirt is besides being stinkin' cute???
It's NO-SEW, which is a must for this can't-even-sew-on-a-button gal!

So, first you'll need to gather some supplies:

*10 yards of Tulle (which I've actually seen with polka dots on it at Hobby Lobby...just sayin')
*A Tablecloth
*Ribbon
* Straight Pins

Lay your tablecloth down on the table, then lay out your tulle and fold it in half.

After you've decided if you want your tulle to go all the way around your table or just in the front, start bunching and gathering it together and pin it straight onto the tablecloth.  See...I told you NO sewing!

The gals over at Sweet Craft Cakes allowed for 2-3 inches of tulle to stick up above the table.

Keep gathering and pinning...

After all the tulle was pinned down, she took some stretchy sequined ribbon and pinned it to the tablecloth, then removed all the pins from the tulle.
Looks easy enough...right?!?!
So. Stinkin'. CUTE!

Thanks Sweet Craft Cakes for the tutorial!!!

Easter Decor from a Tiny Belle!

A quick introduction before you find yourself saying "Emily Who from What Now?"
I'm Emily Piper. I own and co created Tiny Belles Boutique. We have been proud to clothe and accessories MANY parties by the lovely Miss Nancy, and I was HONORED when she asked me if I'd like to be a contributor to her awesome party blog!

Ok! Now that we've got that out of the was, lets talk Easter! This spring, I discovered something about myself. My favorite season is always changing. During the summer, I look towards fall. During October, I start looking towards Christmas. After Christmas, I can't wait for Spring! Hi. My name is Emily, and I am a decor junkie!

How am I decorating for Easter this year? Good question!! I always start by dragging out my "seasonal" kitchen towels. I typically pick them up at Joann's. But you can find them at Walmart, Target, Michaels, even Hobby Lobby! Or you can make your own. But Ill get to that another day.

Next, I start thinking center pieces! Here is some inspiration I've pulled from some of my favorite resources, Better Homes and Gardens, Martha Stewart Living and, of course, Etsy!!

I **love** using a wreath on my table(s!) Lay it down, stick a candle in the middle BAM! Super cute! Plus, if it's gonna be spring, its gonna be floral! Especially daffodills. I **love** daffs! Throw in some seedlings, a little of this, a few tulips, a little of that (fabric flowers!!!)

I **promise** to get back to you with pictures of what I come up with for this season!!

How are *you* decorating?

Thank you to Come and Knock for the beautiful wreath and Vintage Green Limited for the darling bird decor/cake toppers!!

Eat-Sleep-Play Ball Baby Shower

I was honored to host a baby shower for one of my closest friends, Tricia.  She has 2 gorgeous girls and now her baby boy, Junior.  Tricia's husband is a coach so, he loves all sports.  It was easy to pick this theme for the baby shower.

Invitation designed by my friend, Rebecca from Fresh Chick Design Studio.

I will start out with the desserts and sweets table.  Is way more fun, right?!

The food table.  I made chicken salad, cheese and crackers, veggies, pretzel sticks, black olives, and chips and salsa.  My fans on facebook helped out with the creative names on the labels!  They are more creative than me!...lol  I also borrowed most of the "sports" dishes from friends.  I only bought the football bowls at a store called, Tuesday Morning.

I found all the sports plates, cups, and, napkins at the Dollar Tree....gosh I love that place!

I made a banner for the "Gifts" table.  The "thank you" favors were sports cookie cutters purchased at Michael's.

This beautiful necklace was for the new mommy.  It is from 3 Little Birds Boutique.  The neat thing about this necklace, is it can be personalized with your kids' initials...LOVE it!

Here's my sweet friend, Tricia and I :)
